Solar eclipse in El Calafate for November 2012
A new solar eclipse will be seen in El Calafate and much of the province of Santa Cruz on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
In the city of El Calafate it will be a partial eclipse, and it will be appreciated that 47% of the sun will be covered by the moon. It will begin at 19:40 pm on November 13 and at 20:25 pm it will reach the maximum area of the sun covered by the moon giving end at 21:08 pm. It can be seen only with special filters.
The experts indicate that the city of Cairns in Queensland, located in the northeast of Australia, is the mainland where the total eclipse will be seen, then the shadow of the moon will cross the Pacific Ocean, where there are some islands which will also have the privilege of observing the phenomenon.
The time in which takes place in El Calafate is one of the few places in Argentina where the whole phenomenon will be observed before sunset.
